”Go and buy time for milady to escape! ” a soldier holding a sword and covered in scratches orders to another soldier as the ground shook, and the trees shake inside the forest. The soldier who is ordered to stay behind to face the unknown creature shake in fear as the other soldier and a young lady continues to run along the thick forest.

”Captain! Please don leave me! I don want to die just yet! ” the soldier panics with his shaking legs and stumble to the ground after his foot tripped on a trees root. He hurriedly pulls his feet, but the weeds had tangled up on his foot as the sound of the ground rumbling continues.

”Help! Somebody, help! ” his cries for help echoes throughout the entire forest and at the same time the rumbling disappears. He noticed the rumbling disappeared and rejoice, but it is short-lived when he noticed a shadow of a large creature towering him, ”…. ”

[GRRRR!] [GROWL!]

”Mommy! Captain! Help me- uah! ”

His voice got cut off as the creature slice his belly open, revealing his insides with a single swing. Its razor sharp claws instantly cuts through his body like jelly. Not even the armor could save the poor soldier.

”Captain, was that the right thing to do? ” the young lad asks the captain of the soldier and the latter stays silent for a moment before answering her. ”It was the only thing that we can do, milady. Even if we stayed behind and fought that thing, I don think we will ever survive. Running away and sacrificing a few lives for your sake is the only thing that I can see a chance of your survival. ” he explained, and the young lady drown in guilt.

”So many good soldiers had sacrificed their lives for me. When will this nightmare end? ” she asks herself as the captain feels the rumbling of the earth once more. ”What? It caught up to us this fast? ” his sense tells him to escape but looking at the person running in front of him, he embraces his fate and stops running.

”Captain, why did you stop!? Hurry before that thing catch up to us! ” she yells from far away, but the soldier shakes his head and draws his sword. ”Forgive me, milady. I think this is as far as I can go. I apologize for just being this useful. Please flee while you still can. I will hold that monster long enough for you to escape. ”

The stares at him blankly, she wants to refute his words, but she can . ”Thank you very much for your service. ” she says to herself as tears stream from her eyes, the soldier valiantly stands in the middle of the forest awaiting the monster to come, but to his dismay, none came out of the thick trees.

In a rather split of a second, his sense told him to look back. And only then that he realized that the monster has cut them off, ”MILADY! ” he yells as he uses the wind to lighten himself and travel faster at the direction where the young lady is headed. Upon consuming his mana just to catch up to her quickly, he sees her from afar. Standing idly while gazing at the dark and ominous forest before her.

”Milady! Please come to me! ” he asks as purple pair of eyes glows in the dark of the forest staring directly at the young lady who is now afraid beyond belief in the point that she can even take a step forward, she froze in fear before the mighty monster. ”No! I won let you! ” the soldier screams as he uses and exhaust his very last mana to propel himself forward to protect the young lady.

The monster sees this and quickly reacts to him, swinging its large razor sharp claws towards the man. The monsters swing is so strong that it send the young lady stumbling on the ground, narrowly escaping death by the claws of the monster. The soldier on the other hand has his sword cut in two and slightly injured after the monster just scraped his chest.

Before the monster could do any more attack, the soldier instantly rushes towards the young lady and bring her away from the monster. ”Milady! Please run away! ” he says as he stumbles and fall. Finally recovering from the shock, the young lady brings herself up and drags the soldier with her. ”There is little to no chance of me surviving, Im sure that monster will hunt me until I die. I don want to die alone so lets try to escape together! ” She orders and brings hope to the soldiers heart.

That did not last long as the monster is charging towards them at full speed. This time, the monster reveals itself. It is none other than a giant bear with strange purple streaks around its body. With the soldier out of mana and is now suffering from mana deprivation, the young lady has no choice but to draw and wield her sword herself.

He witnessed this and begs for her, ”Please forget me, milady! You need to live! ” he says with utmost respect, but the young lady shakes her head, ”I told you already, there is little to no chance for me to survive with this thing chasing me. So its better to face it rather than dying trying to run away. ” she says with a courageous tone. Though her hands and body are shaking in contrary to what she just said, the soldier could not help but admire her courage.

”Even so, please live. ” he mutters as the ground continues to shake violently. The surrounding trees even swayed to the sides as the giant bear charges toward them. ”This is it! There is no turning back now, Helena! Mother, father, and sister. I don think I will be seeing you again. Goodbye. ”

After saying her farewell, the young lady who has fearful eyes towards the monster has changed. Fear turned to courage as her fierce eyes fixed on the giant monster rushing towards them. The shaking of her body disappear as well as she swings her sword, finally accepting her fate to die within this forest. ”At least, I get to stand up for myself once in my life. How regretful. ”
