Katariona Teaches the Sword Saint of the Wind How to Dance

TL: Sorry guys for the delay~ finally landed back home.

Five days before the Royal Ball.

Tojurou-san and Kikuno-sama visited the townhouse.

I was informed of their purpose from a message I received earlier.

“Then, shall we get started?”

After entertaining them in the reception room, Kikuno-sama smiled and turned her face toward Tojurou-san.
Her eyes weren’t laughing.
They were akin to those of a beast in front of its prey.

Tojurou-san grimaced.

“A, ahh.
Yu-ri, Yurie, please take care of us today.”

Tojurou-san and Kikuno-sama were invited as guests of honor to the royal ball.

“Today I am the master.”

My brother gave Tojurou-san a smile identical to Kikuno-sama’s.

“That’s right.
We will be your masters today.
Of dance, that is.”

What Tojurou-san and Kikuno-sama wanted was for us to teach them how to dance.

The four of us moved to the hall.

“Then, please try to dance once together, Tojurou-sensei and Kikuno-sensei.”

Having been used to calling him as such at the academy, I had recently come to refer to Tojurou-san as sensei.

My brother plays the waltz that is often used at the ball.

Leon sits at a table in the corner of the hall staring at us.
I guess Leon is also interested in seeing Mr.
Tojiro and Lady Kikuno dance.

Tojurou-san lead Kikuno-sama awkwardly, and she followed his jerky lead.

Kikuno-sama seemed to be having a very hard time dancing.
Her smile would occasionally falter.

However, Kikuno-sama managed to avoid Tojuou-san’s accidental attempts of stepping on her feet and kept on dancing.

When they finished the dance, Tojurou-san’s face was ashen.

“How was it?”

“It was no good.
Kikuno-sama seemed to be the one guiding him.”

Brother gave a disapproving critique of the performance, and Tojurou-san hung his head in disappointment.

“Does Kikuno-sama have any dance experience?”

Unlike Tojurou-san, Kikuno-sama did not display amateur movement.
Her gorgeous steps were like flowers dancing in a gentle breeze.

“Once upon a time, I was invited by Laura to go to a human ball.”

Laura, who was interested in human apparel, had often invited Kikuno-sama to attend balls and soirées.
Kikuno-sama said that at the time, Flare-sama was distrustful of humans and had withdrawn to the divine realm, so they did not invite her.

“I learned it naturally as I kept on coming back.”

I don’t know what Kikuno-sama looked like when she was a god, but the human forms of the gods are all beautiful, so it’s not hard to imagine that she looked like a beautiful woman.

“No wonder you are so good at it.”

“It’s nice to be praised by a master dancer like Yurie.”

Kikuno-sama, whose cheeks were dyed a pretty pink, is cute.

“My parents are the best dancers in the world.
I’m not good enough yet.”

The next step was for my older brother and Kikuno-sama to dance.

My brother is a good dance partner, so it will be easy for Kikuno-sama to dance.

Unlike when she danced with Tojurou-san, Kikuno-sama stepped lightly.

“Are you watching? It is the role of men to lead like that, Tojurou-san.”

Tojurou-san guffawed.

I am now sitting at the table with Leon, watching the dance.
When Leon heard my words, he chuckled.

“What are you laughing at? Nyan God”

“What? What strange name did you call me?”

Fluffy God is cute, but Nyan God is also cute.

When the music stopped, I applauded.
Clap, clap, even Tojurou-san applauded.

“Kikuno-sama, you’re very good.”

“Thank you very much.
Thanks to Yuri’s good lead, it was easy for me to dance.
It’s a big difference from someone else’s.”

Normally, Tojurou-san would have lashed out at Kikuno-sama at this moment, but he seemed to have lost his nerve.
He just scratched the back of his head.

“Rio is right, Kikuno-sama is very skilled.
I’ve got nothing to teach you.
You should be able to do well at a ball with this.”

My brother gave his seal of approval.
Kikuno-sama seems to have no problem.

The problem is Tojurou-san.

“Next, dance with me, Tojuro-san”

I put on high-heeled shoes to match his height.

“Can you dance in such high shoes?”

“It is natural for a noblewoman to dance in high-heeled shoes.
Besides, I’ve been working out, so I’m fine.
Thanks to my master.”

I said, grinning at Tojurou-san.

Thanks to my demon-like swordmaster, I have some nice muscles all over my body.

The edge of his mouth twitched.

“Now, shall we get started?”

The waltz began.

“No, sir! It’s not about stomping your foot, it’s about shifting your weight and moving your foot forward.
What you’re doing will only hurt the woman.
Start over!”

The music stopped immediately.

Every time he made a mistake, the music stopped.
And then the waltz would play again.
It kept stopping.

Leon laughed hysterically on the table.

“Hey! What’s so funny, kitten!?”

Tojurou-san grumbled to Leon, who was laughing his head off.

“Nope.
I just thought it was the opposite of what I usually do.”

In sword practice, I’m the one who’s getting the short end of the stick from Tojurou-san.

Leon is still laughing and smiling when I heard the sound of something snapping from Tojurou-san.

“Then let’s see you dance, kitten!”

“What did you say? If I can dance well, you must buy me sweets.”

“If you can dance well.”

Tojurou-san smiled slyly.

Snorting, Leon changed into a young man and knelt down, planting his lips on the back of my hand.

“My lady, Katariona, will you dance with me?”

My heart leapt as he called me by my full name.

“Yes, I would love to!”

My voice jumped an octave, and Leon smiled when he saw me put my hand over my mouth in embarrassment.

I whispered to Leon as I walked out to the center.

“You didn’t have to be a young man, you could have been a boy.”

Even in boy form, Leon is taller than me.

“Then I wouldn’t be able to compete with Hikoshiro.
I don’t want to lose face by being short.”

Leon in his youthful form and Tojurou-san are about the same height.

The music played and I began to dance with Leon.

The lead was natural and the follow-up was perfectly timed.
It was so easy to dance!

Come to think of it, this is the first time I’ve danced with Leon.

“Leon, you’re good at dancing.”

“I can do most things.”

Indeed, Leon was a good cook and could do most things with ease.

“Thanks to Marion?”

“Are you still worrying about such things? Rio is the one who is living in this moment.
I’ve told you before that Rio is the most important thing.
Would it be better if I told you every day? If it makes Rio feel better, I’ll do it.”

My cheeks suddenly felt hot.
He was right.
I turn my face away to hide my embarrassment.

“Yeah.
Could you tell me regularly?”

“I understand.”

Leon smiled softly.

This is foul play.
I don’t think there is any woman who would not be attracted to him.

When Leon and I finished dancing, applause rang out.

What was that? It seemed like a lot of applause for two people, but then I realized that Marie was there.

There was some fruit water on the table, so she must have brought some for us.

“Milady and Leon-sama are perfectly in sync, breathtaking.”

Marie paid us a generous compliment as I sat down at the table to catch my breath.

As I sipped my fruit water, Leon whispered to Tojurou-san:

“I win, don’t I? Hikoshiro.”

“Geez! Guess I have no choice.”

Torjuro-sama admitted his defeat candidly.

After a short break, I gave Tojurou-san a thorough thrashing.

The men took their time pointing out what dancing was all about, while the women gave him relentless feedback.

By the time he had managed to master it, Tojurou-san was limp.

I don’t know if he’ll be able to teach tomorrow.
He was so exhausted.

The next day, when I told Chris about what had happened, she regretted that she had missed it.

The royal family has a lot of work to do to prepare for the Royal Ball.
My family is also in a flurry of activity.
